18 District Singing Contest

The 18 District Singing Contest 2007 is meant to provide aspiring singing talents with an opportunity to make known their musical gifts on stage. The competition also serves as a stepping stone for anyone with an ambition in the showbiz.

Eligibility
Contestants must be Hong Kong citizens between the age of 13- 28, with a strong interest in singing

Points of Note

1. Contestants may compete as an individual or in groups.
2. Each contestant may only render one song.
3. Music accompaniment in CD or in the form of live instruments is to be prepared by the contestants themselves
4. Song content has to cater for general tastes

Application
Applicants must submit their application forms together with a recent photo on or before 26 June 2007 either by post, fax, or by hand to any centre of the Hong Kong Communication and Art Centre.

Application forms are available in any of our centre.

Competition
Preliminary round
The preliminary round of competition will take place in July. A winner from each district will be selected for the final competition.
The time and dates for the preliminary round will be announced later

Final round
The final competition, together with the award presentation, will take place on 5 August at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Awards and prizes
Winners of the Championship, First runner-up and Second runner-up are all entitled to:
An award trophy
Scholarship at the Hong Kong Communication and Art Centre
Championship: 15000 HKD
First Runner-up: 8000 HKD
Second Runner-up: 5000 HKD
An audition from a record company

Application Deadline: 26 June 2007

Applicants must agree on all regulations and ordinances applicable to the competition

1. All contestants must attend rehearsal sessions
2. HKCAC is entitled to the use of all contents, images, and recordings of all performances for any publicity events
3. HKCAC reserves the ultimate right to any changes made to the regulations concerned
4. The organizer reserves the ultimate right in the admission of any contestants.
