HKADF Fashion Design Competition

Hong Kong as a cosmopolitan has been the melting pot of both fad and fashion. The fashion industry in particular has had an insatiable need for new creative talents in order to propel itself onward. The objective of the Hong Kong Art and Design Festival 2007 Design Competition is thus to discover new blood in the industry while provide young aspiring designers with an opportunity to showcase their talents.

To promote cultural exchange and to nurture new talents in design

Theme
Convention and Innovation

Eligibility
Anyone with secondary education and a strong interest in fashion design may apply. All entries must be original and not be modeled on other’s works. Accessories, however, can be added to works.

Application
Application form, together with an A-4 sized design drawing, and a list of the materials in use, are to be sent by post or by hand to the organizer.

Competition
All works will be on display in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre between 3 & 6 August 2007

Awards and Prizes
Award titles include Overall Championship, Creativity Award, and Visual Effect Award. Winner will each be awarded a trophy alongside valuable prizes.

Regulations
Applicants must agree on all regulations and ordinances applicable to the competition

1. Award-winning works from any other previous competitions must not be submitted
2. Any entries which involve plagiarism or violation of copyrights will be disqualified, and the contestants themselves will be held legally responsible.
3. HKCAC is entitled to the use of all contents, images, and recordings of all performances concerned for publicity purposes
4. HKCAC reserves the ultimate right to any changes made to the regulations concerned
5. While we will take as much care as possible in the handling of all entries, we cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss.
6. The organizer reserves the ultimate right in the admission of any contestant.

Application fee

Open category: 600 HKD
High School category: 300 HKD
(refundable in case of failure of entrance into competition)

Forms of Payment
Participants may pay in cash or by cheque at the Hong Kong Communication and Art Centre in person. Cheques are to be made payable to the “Hong Kong Communication Art Centre Limited.” Bank transfer can also be made at the HKSBC under this account number: 047-671813-833. Please submit application together with transfer receipt. Application fees will be returned to any participants who fail to enter into the preliminary round.
