2008年度國際傑出設計師選舉

The Outstanding International Designers Awards is intended to honour those who have achieved pre-eminent status in the design field anywhere in the world. The recipients will be designers who have demonstrated surpassing excellence, a very special ability and an enthusiastic commitment to enhancing the status and role of design on the international market in the creative industries.

To ensure the highest quality of candidature for this very prestigious award, candidates must initially be nominated by an academic, professional or industrial peer in the design field. They must also be supported in their nomination by an individual or company demonstrating a substantial commitment to the ideals and values of the Hong Kong Art and Design Festival. Such support should therefore come from individuals and entities who undertake sponsorship of the festival and its events at a significant level, including Title Sponsor, Sub-title Sponsor or Diamond Sponsor.

The Judging Panel will select the successful candidate(s) on the basis of their personal commitment and excellence of design abilities and creativity; eminent contribution to the creative industries, whether through professional leadership, education and development of emerging talent or ground-breaking innovation; and clear evidence of social responsibility revealed in the positive influence of their designs on the integrity and well-being of the international design market.

All ward results will be announced at the Award Presentation to be held in Hong Kong on 28th August 2008. All winning entries will be showcased at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 28th to 31st August 2008 and published in the Hong Kong Art & Design Festival Catalogue.
